Staying at Pick 32

This is the situation I see being the most likely at this point in time. This is a very deep class, and the chance of a player falling to the Chiefs here that should’ve been picked sooner is very high.

Kansas City is returning its top four wide receivers from last season, and this is being talked about as a very deep wide receiver class. That means a ton of wide receivers could come off the board early, pushing back players at other positions that otherwise would have been gone sooner.

A similar situation will probably also go down with the quarterbacks. Usually one or two quarterbacks every year get over-drafted, so if you pair that with a run on wide receivers, and the Chiefs could see some very talented players still left when they are on the clock.

The player I would most like here is Patrick Queen. Queen is an athletic linebacker, and NFL Draft Scout Matt Miller has him ranked as his 16th overall player in the class

The Chiefs haven’t had a dominant linebacker roaming the field since Derrick Johnson‘s glory days. It remains to be soon if Queen is available at 32, but if he is, he would make a great addition to the Chiefs defense.

Kansas City could honestly go a million directions here. With Bashaud Breeland currently unsigned, corner could be a need. They could also just decide to add more weapons for Patrick Mahomes, and use the selection on Georgia running back D’Andre Swift.

Either way, a lot of talent should be available for the Chiefs at the end of the first round if they decide to hold on to the selection.
