The KC Chiefs haven’t had a huge start to free agency and that’s okay. Here are some names they can still add to make a splash.

The Kansas City Chiefs have had a rather quiet start to free agency and I wrote here why that is a smart decision for the franchise.

Even though the Chiefs are limited in cap space and seem more focused on keeping the band together, that doesn’t mean they shouldn’t make any moves, or that there isn’t any moves to make.

Most of the Chiefs’ notable moves have been re-upping their own guys. Demarcus Robinson is just the latest player to re-sign with the team, following the paths of Anthony Sherman and Mike Pennel deciding to stay with the Chiefs

Add in the fact that Chris Jones was franchise tagged, and it is apparent that Brett Veach wants to bring back as many pieces from last year’s Super Bowl squad as he can.

There are still moves to be made, though. I am going to discuss a few names still remaining on the open market that the Chiefs could be targeting.

Before we get into that, I know the Chiefs are strapped against the cap. That is only because they chose to be. There are several moves the Chiefs could make top free up enough space for one or two of these signings.

The Chiefs were apparently interested in guard Andrus Peat, who re-signed with the Saints with a $57 million contract that stretches five years. If they were willing to give a contract like that out, that means the Chiefs know what moves need to make in order to sign impact players. They are just waiting for the right player to emerge to make those moves.

Let’s first look at a position that the Chiefs are once again going to have to piece together this year, and that is cornerback.
