RANKING 2019 REGULAR SEASON GAMES

NUMBER 12: WEEK 7 VS BRONCOS (30-7 WIN)

We’re officially into the victories from the regular season and the worst victory – even though it was a blowout win – had to be in week seven against the Denver Broncos.

This match-up took place in Denver on Thursday Night Football and the two teams were headed in different directions. Kansas City started the season 4-0 and had lost their previous two match-ups while the Broncos went 0-4 to start the year and sat on a two-game win streak heading into their primetime battle against the Chiefs.

What everyone will remember about this game, however, is that it’s when Patrick Mahomes was injured and looked lost for the season. The Chiefs persevered and smacked the Broncos in the mouth both offensively and defensively, and this was the game where we started to see glimpses of the revamped defense, who had nine sacks on the night.

Mahomes’ injury was the low point of the 2019 season and that’s why the Chiefs’ week seven victory over Denver sits in this spot on the list.

NUMBER 11: WEEK 13 VS RAIDERS (40-9 WIN)

There was one point in the 2019 season where people legitimately thought the Oakland Raiders were a better football team than the Kansas City Chiefs. This is a real thing that happened and to be fair – The Raiders had their moment in the sun where it looked like they MIGHT be a playoff contender.

The Raiders at one point sat at 6-4 (this being when the Chiefs were 7-4), but they began to implode right before they played KC, losing to the Jets the week prior. They had a chance to show they were still a playoff hopeful when they traveled to Kansas City, but instead laid an egg through the first three quarters.

In fact – Oakland didn’t score in this one until the beginning of the fourth quarter and that was just a field goal. They scored their first and only touchdown in the final minute of the game where things were clearly out of reach at that point.

As much fun as it is to smack the Raiders around each year, this game didn’t have any drama to it, so this is a good placing for it on this list.
