The KC Chiefs play the NFC South in 2020 and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers play in that division. Why is this relevant? Well, because Tom Brady is heading to Tampa, making the Chiefs/Buccaneers game much more interesting.

After the Kansas City Chiefs won the Super Bowl and fans had come down from the high that came from being world champions, the natural thing to do was start looking ahead at the opponents for the 2020 season.

When seeing that the Chiefs would play the NFC South in 2020, the obvious match-up that excited everyone was against the Saints. It pitted two teams against each other who have been perennial Super Bowl contenders over the past several years.

Now, however, there’s another match-up from the NFC South that’s going to excite football fans. That’s when the Chiefs and Buccaneers square off – whenever that is.

The reason Kansas City vs Tampa Bay is an enticing game now is because Tom Brady has decided he’ll be taking his talents to Tampa and will be leading the Bucs offense. This comes after 20 years as the quarterback for the New England Patriots while leading them to nine Super Bowls and winning six of them.

It’ll be interesting not seeing Brady in New England and it was especially surprising when he decided to sign with Tampa Bay. The Bucs haven’t been relevant in almost two decades and while they have talent on their roster, there’s still work to be done for sure. Bruce Arians is a good coach though and now this takes Tampa Bay from being a middle of the road team to being a playoff contender.

When these two teams do square off, it’ll take place in Tampa Bay and don’t be surprised if this ends up being a primetime affair due to Brady’s recent “rivalry” with Kansas City. He went 2-1 against Patrick Mahomes with the one loss coming this past season in Foxborough.

While AFC vs NFC match-ups during the regular season don’t really mean as much in the standings, this should be a fun game pitting two really good offenses against each other. Brady will be armed with the likes of Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, and O.J. Howard while Mahomes will have Tyreek Hill, Travis Kelce, and Mecole Hardman to throw the ball to.

It’s been awhile since the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have been relevant, but it just so happens the first year of their relevancy will come in a year where they have the Kansas City Chiefs on their schedule. Should be fun!
