Football season might be over, but it’s never too early to look at what the upcoming season has in store! Let’s take a look at the Kansas City Chiefs’ 2020 opponents and what they might bring to the table.

Many of us have reached that point where we know full well that it’s time to turn the page from the Kansas City Chiefs winning the Super Bowl.

March Madness is right around the corner, spring training in baseball has officially commenced (I can smell the hot dogs and hear the banging on trash cans from here), but fans are not quite ready to close the door on the Chiefs Super Bowl winning season. In an effort to perpetuate the Chiefs season that has been over for nearly a month, let’s look at the opponents that could possibly bar the Chiefs’ path from a repeat performance in Super Bowl LV.

Obviously, the makeup of these teams might have changed drastically once you factor in free agency, the draft, season injuries, and other variables that are bound too occurr during any given Sunday, so my thoughts will be based off the teams from last year and what we currently know about them at this time.

We do not have dates and times yet for when the Chiefs play these opponents, but we can still discuss the teams. First, I will present the schedule to you in its entirety as I have it, so you can begin formulating some opinions of your own.

  • Atlanta Falcons (home)
  • Carolina Panthers (home)
  • New Orleans Saints (away)
  • Tampa Bay Buccaneers (away)
  • New England Patriots (home)
  • New York Jets (home)
  • Buffalo Bills (away)
  • Miami Dolphins (away)
  • Houston Texans (home)
  • Baltimore Ravens (away)
  • All divisional games (Broncos twice, Chargers twice and Raiders twice)

Honestly, if the KC Chiefs are planning to co-star in Super Bowl LV, this schedule might be the best way to do it. In years past, the Chiefs have had one of the more difficult schedules in the league, but this upcoming season appears to be an easier schedule.

Every game won’t be a cake walk because in the NFL it truly is an “every given Sunday” mentality, but if you truly look at the two divisions the Chiefs will be facing (NFC South and AFC East), there is only one team from each of those divisions that could cause concern for the Chiefs and even those teams are both very winnable games.
