Mississippi State’s Cameron Dantzler could be best option of availability and potential for the Kansas City Chiefs in the 2020 NFL Draft.

As I mentioned before, the KC Chiefs are likely going to draft a corner at 32 if they indeed stay there. They could always trade back, but Brett Veach has never done that before, so I’ll believe it when I see it.

That brings us to Mississippi State junior cornerback Cameron Dantzler, who is my favorite combination of immediate talent and potential for the future. Listed at 6’2″ and 185 pounds, I’m excited to see how the tall Dantzler performs at the combine. Can he move well enough to know he can play man defense at the NFL level?

With experienced Charvarius Ward – and to a lesser degree Rashad Fenton – Dantzler is an intriguing option to provide size and athleticism at the position. More is obviously needed, but at least that’s a decent start with three corners, as the team would only need to likely add two more.

I’m also a huge fan of Boise’s John Hightower and Mississippi State’s Darryl Williams. Neither would require high draft selections, but would be capable of providing high level depth on offense.

If the Kansas City Chiefs are going to continue to win on offense, they have to make sure to never get old or slow on that side of the ball; Hightower has speed while Williams is versatile.
