KC Chiefs news right now consists of the NFL’s new proposal to expand both the regular season and the playoffs, which if implemented in 2019, would have impacted the Chiefs’ run to the Super Bowl.
The CBA proposal for an extended regular season and playoff run would add one more game in regulation and would add another team on each side of the conference (so seven on both sides). With the extra team added in, the number two seed would no longer have a bye week and instead would host whichever team earned the seventh seed in the Wild Card round.
This would have been a huge blow to the Kansas City Chiefs‘ chances in 2019, as they wound up as the two seed and that extra week off helped them immensely throughout the rest of the playoffs. It was a HUGE factor in why they ultimately won the Super Bowl.
Furthermore, the team who earned the one seed would have a massive advantage over the other six playoff teams. Yes, that makes the regular season matter so much more when it comes to winning, but this is setting things up for the Super Bowl to be a one seed versus one seed situation year in and year out.
NFL playoff structure is about to be changed. Under the current CBA proposal, seven teams from each conference will make the playoffs, with only bye per conference, sources tell ESPN. It would go into effect this upcoming season. More coming on https://t.co/rDZaVFhcDQ.

The playoffs are fine the way they are and so is the regular season. Money clearly talks though and that’s why this is probably going to pass and be implemented in the years to come. Oh goodie.

"It’s a major win for commissioner Roger Goodell and Co., who will now package and sell two more playoff games to the networks. As for the players, it’s another check (even if it means another game for the seventh seeds)."

The NFL playoffs are perfect the way they are and there’s no need to expand them or the regular season. This is especially bad for the Kansas City Chiefs, who are the reigning champs and could have their path to a dynasty made more difficult if and when this CBA proposal passes.
