While the newness of the Super Bowl win should take a while to wear off for the KC Chiefs, it’s already time to look forward to the 2020 season. Which Super Bowl-winning Chiefs may no longer be on this roster next season?

If the Kansas City Chiefs‘ 2019 season could be titled, it’d be appropriate to call it Overcoming Adversity. From implementing a new defensive scheme to injuries that nearly derailed the whole season to incredible comeback victories, this team learned what it took to overcome big obstacles. One of the keys to overcoming their struggles was the team’s roster.

Names like Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, and the Honey Badger will no be immortalized in the minds of Chiefs fans for years to come. But what about those other guys who were lesser-known key contributors?

Make no mistake about it, general manager Brett Veach did a masterful job in maintaining a roster that was able to push the Chiefs over the top. Unfortunately, like any season, sacrifices will have to be made in order to continue pursuing success in the next season.

It’s understandable that many fans become sentimental about certain players and their contributions to such a memorable season. The NFL is still a business, though, and fan-favorite players are often playing in different jerseys from one season to the next.

Thankfully, the Chiefs have a core group of guys that will be around for a while and will continue to see success in the years to come. Let’s take a look at some players who may not be around in 2020.
