Super Bowl LIV pitting the Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers against each other is this Sunday. What match-ups should fans be keeping an eye on?

I still can’t believe that I am sitting in my kitchen, drinking coffee, and covering a Kansas City Chiefs Super Bowl. It is all still way too surreal as a fan to think about.

It has been almost two weeks since the Chiefs topped the Tennessee Titans in the AFC Championship Game, and it feels like time has both flown by and come to a stand still. The wait for the game is excruciating, but in the meantime, we have gotten to eat up every camera being on our favorite players, every pundit covering our team, and every waking second of attention being given to the Kansas City Chiefs. Holy cow this is real, isn’t it?

Now that we have gotten all the soundbites, interviews, and questions answered that our little hearts desired, we can shift focus to the actual upcoming game. This Super Bowl looks to be a great one.

Either team could conceivably win this game, and no matter what you may hear, I guarantee no fan of either team is totally confident in their squads winning. Both teams are immensely talented and extremely well coached, and that is why this game could go either way.

In the end, there are going to be a million and one factors that go into deciding who will hoist the Lombardi Trophy. So instead of covering everything, why don’t we cover the match-ups that are going to be the most important?

This is exactly what we did on this week’s episode of the KC Kingdom Podcast (linked below). Give us a listen if you wan’t to hear two lifelong fans still in shock that the team made it all the way to the Super Bowl, our thoughts on media week and the game itself.

If the podcast isn’t your cup of tea, no worries! Just keep reading below on what I think the most important match-ups of Super Bowl LIV are going to be.

There are many match-ups to look at here. I am going to look at a few direct match-ups, like the San Francisco defensive line vs Kansas City’s offensive line, as well as a few indirect match-ups, like George Kittle vs Travis Kelce, who obviously both play offense.

Let’s go ahead with the aforementioned offensive line vs defensive line battle, and why I think it will be one of the biggest determining factors of the Super Bowl.
