Home Field Advantage

Where the first game was played in Nashville, this game will be played in the world’s loudest stadium.

While there was a noticeable amount of red in the stands in Tennessee in Week 10, the Titans will now enter a much more rabid environment at Arrowhead Stadium. Any team would always prefer to play in front of their home crowd for any game, but that’s especially true during the playoffs. That’s one of the reasons that the Chiefs are favored this week against the Titans.

Last year, the Chiefs hosted their first ever AFC Championship. While a poor defensive outing allowed the Patriots to score a game-ending touchdown on the first drive of overtime, this year will be different.

The Chiefs defense this year has made incredible strides, especially in the latter part of the season. That certainly helps take the pressure off of a team that is now ready for another shot at the title game. Playing in front of the home crowd will provide a little extra motivation for this Chiefs team.

While Tennessee has been victorious in both Foxborough and Baltimore this postseason, they won’t walk out of Arrowhead with a trip to the Super Bowl. It’s not often that a number six playoff seed gets this far into the playoffs, especially knocking off tough teams like this year’s Patriots and Ravens.

After beating these teams, this Titans team is ripe for a loss. Overcoming the three best teams in the AFC in their home stadiums three weeks in a row is a feat that is rarely done.

Even during the regular season, a team that plays on the road for three weeks in a row will have to work a little harder to be successful. Not only is Tennessee in their third week on the road, but they’re also coming into Chiefs Kingdom.

This is a fanbase that’s more than ready to get loud and see their team advance to the big game. Arrowhead Stadium won’t fall silent this year as it did with last year’s AFC Championship outcome.
