CHRIS JONES

Eventually Derrick Henry and company will take the field and when they do, there are a few guys on defense who can help limit the damage that is done. The fight to contain Henry begins at the defensive line and having a healthy Chris Jones is essential.

Stone Cold Jones is most known for his sacks, but he has a knack for stopping runners in their tracks. Henry is a big dude, but at 6’6″ and 311 pounds, Jones is no slouch himself and should have no problem getting in Henry’s way.

The only thing with Jones to consider here is that he’s been banged up and very well could miss this Sunday’s game. He missed last week, being named inactive just hours before the Divisional Round game kicked off. While Andy Reid has said that Jones is doing better, we can’t for certain expect him to take the field.

If he does, however, he’s going to be a big factor in the game. He’d be matched against Rodger Saffold and would most definitely have the edge in that match-up. Hopefully Stone Cold takes the field and can be his usual productive self come Sunday afternoon.

FRANK CLARK

Ryan Tannehill is going to have to pass at some point and when he drops back, Frank Clark needs to be there to meet him, breathing fire the whole time. During the first half of this season, we were all slightly questioning the rather hefty price that was payed for Clark, but in the latter half of the season, he has shown that he is worth every penny.

He may not always get the sack, but he will always apply pressure, forcing the quarterback into bad decisions and poor accuracy. Tannehill is a skilled quarterback and has been great for Tennessee since being named the starter, but if the Chiefs defense put the Titans in a position where they must rely more on their passing game, Clark is going to make life rather difficult for Tannehill.

The Chiefs need Clark for the same reasons they need Jones; They’re the pass rushing gurus on this team and can make the magic happen. They’re the guys who strike fear into the opposing offenses and despite Clark’s slow start, if he can hit Tannehill a few times on Sunday, that will hopefully be a big enough impact in the game.
