The Kansas City Chiefs will not be playing this weekend, as they netted one of the four bye weeks in the postseason. The KC Kingdom staff took the time to predict the final score of all four Wild Card games this weekend.

For the second straight year, the Kansas City Chiefs won’t play on Wild Card weekend, instead awaiting to see who their opponent will be for the Divisional Round. To get everyone psyched for the games this weekend, the KC Kingdom staff has made their final score predictions for all four Wild Card games.

TEXANS VS BILLS

  • Kole Berrey – Texans 20, Bills 24
  • Chris Clark – Texans 27, Bills 13
  • Cullen Jekel – Texans 16, Bills 24
  • Leigh Oleszczak – Texans 24, Bills 17
  • Shade Piper – Texans 21, Bills 17

The first game of the weekend will take place on Saturday at 3:35 CST, and once again, the Texans are the early afternoon playoff game. Doesn’t it seem like the Texans always have that time slot no matter who they play?

Anyway, Houston hosts the Buffalo Bills, who came close to winning the AFC East, but couldn’t quite topple the Patriots this season. For Buffalo though, just making the playoffs is a huge accomplishment and there’s a realistic chance they can advance to the Divisional Round for the first time in two decades.

The KC Kingdom staff split on this game, with two of our contributors picking the Bills to upset the Texans on the road. Even though the Texans are wildly inconsistent, they have a great offense and J.J. Watt will be returning on the defensive side of the ball to help out there.

When stacking up the two offenses against each other, there’s no doubt that the Texans have the advantage there. On the defensive side of the ball, however, the edge would definitely go to Buffalo. So, does offense or defense win the day here? We’ll find out on Saturday.

PATRIOTS VS TITANS

  • Kole – Patriots 27, Titans 20
  • Chris – Patriots 20, Titans 17
  • Cullen – Patriots 30, Titans 27
  • Leigh – Patriots 21, Titans 17
  • Shade – Patriots 20, Titans 23

The second game on Saturday will take place at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, which hasn’t hosted a Wild Card game since 2009. The Patriots went nearly an entire decade without having to play on Wild Card weekend, but here we are now. They’ll get the pesky Titans and that game is slated to kick off at 7:15 CST on Saturday night.

This has the potential to be the game of the weekend and who would have predicted us saying that prior to the season? The Patriots have lost three of their last five games and their offense looks putrid. Meanwhile, the Titans have been one of the scariest teams in the NFL down the stretch, and Kansas City Chiefs fans are VERY thankful that they don’t have to play them this weekend or in the Divisional Round.

All but one of our staff members were on the Patriots this weekend, but everyone had it being a close game either way. It’s hard to see the Patriots being one and done in the playoffs, but if anyone could go in and shock the Pats in the Wild Card round, it’d be the Tennessee Titans.

SAINTS VS VIKINGS

  • Kole – Saints 34, Vikings 24
  • Chris – Saints 31, Vikings 10
  • Cullen – Saints 31, Vikings 20
  • Leigh – Saints 35, Vikings 20
  • Shade – Saints 28, Vikings 23

With both of the AFC games being played on Saturday, that leaves the two NFC games for Sunday’s playoff action. The first of the two, kicking off at 12:05 CST, is the Saints and the Vikings.

New Orleans went 13-3 yet has to play on Wild Card weekend, showing just how competitive the NFC was this year. The Vikings, on the other hand, couldn’t win their division, but will try to beat the Saints in the playoffs in the Super Dome, which is no small task.

This seems like the most lopsided game of the weekend and our staff would agree, all picking the Saints to win with four of us picking them to win comfortably. That’s nothing against Minnesota, but the Saints are just so explosive on both sides of the ball and it’s hard to see the Vikings going into the Super Dome and emerging victorious.

EAGLES VS SEAHAWKS

  • Kole – Eagles 13, Seahawks 24
  • Chris – Eagles 13, Seahawks 24
  • Cullen – Eagles 23, Seahawks 27
  • Leigh – Eagles 20, Seahawks 24
  • Shade – Eagles 20, Seahawks 27

Last, but certainly not least, we have the late afternoon game on Sunday, which begins at 3:40 CST. That one is Eagles vs Seahawks in Philadelphia.

While it’s a bit unfair that the Seahawks have to play on the road despite having a better record than the 9-7 Eagles, rules are rules. Seattle couldn’t get the job done against San Francisco and now have to win three straight road games to get to the Super Bowl. Harsh, but again, those are the rules.

Staff all predicted the Seahawks to go into Philadelphia and leave with a victory. The Eagles have dealt with injuries all year, but they managed to get into the playoffs and shouldn’t be counted out, especially having the home field edge here. The NFC games aren’t as spicy as the AFC ones, but this Eagles/Seahawks game could surprise some people with its competitiveness.

We’ve got four great games on tap this weekend. Staff split on the Texans/Bills game and it wasn’t unanimous on the Patriots/Titans game either. That match-up is the one that all of Kansas City will have their eyes glued to come Saturday.

What are your predictions for the Wild Card round?
