WINNER: MECOLE HARDMAN

Despite not having a huge day in the receiving game (one catch for 30 yards), Mecole Hardman turned on the jets on special teams. Right after the Chargers had a big touchdown to take the lead, Hardman fielded the kick off and took it 104 yards down the field for six.

Even though it looked like Hardman might have stepped out of bounds, the call stood and the Chiefs took the lead at a time when they desperately needed it. Momentum was starting to swing in LA’s favor, but Hardman said “Not on my watch” and put his squad back on top.

WINNER: TYRANN MATHIEU

Without a doubt, the best free agent signing the Chiefs have had in YEARS has been Tyrann Mathieu, and he proved why again on Sunday, picking Philip Rivers off in the end zone at the end of the first half. It was looking like the Chargers were driving to take the lead heading into the half, but the Honey Badger decided that wasn’t going to happen and intercepted the pass.

While Thornhill’s injury is terrible, the secondary will be okay as long as Tyrann Mathieu is out there. He’s a game changer, man.
