WHAT DID WE LEARN ABOUT THE CHIEFS?

The Chiefs traveled to Chicago with a lot to play for still. Meanwhile, the Bears didn’t have much to play for at all and that was obvious in this one, as the Chiefs steamrolled Da Bears en route to a 26-3 victory in the Windy City.

It was probably painful for the Bears to watch Patrick Mahomes do his thing in the very city that could have drafted him had they not opted to go with Mitchell Trubisky instead. That’s gotta be rough and I feel for you, Bears fans. If any franchise knows what it’s like to to not have a quarterback they can truly love, it’s Chiefs fans.

Mahomes had a nice night in Chicago, going 23 of 33 for 251 yards and three total touchdowns (two in the air and one on the ground). His run game helped him out on Sunday night, totaling 106 yards with Damien Williams getting 65 of those yards.

Travis Kelce and Tyreek Hill continue to be the best weapons the Chiefs have, but sooner or later, the Chiefs are going to need someone else to step up. Whether it’s Sammy Watkins, Demarcus Robinson, Mecole Hardman, or whoever, that time is going to come and hopefully those guys are ready to help out when called upon.

The Chiefs defense has now posted back to back games of only allowing three points to the opposition. That’s damn impressive, especially when you consider how awful this defense was this time last year and how they rebuilt from the ground up this past summer.

The KC Chiefs will continue to fight for that two seed this weekend when they host the Chargers, but a win won’t suffice. It has to be a Chiefs win paired with a Patriots loss and considering the Pats host the Dolphins next weekend, I’m not feeling too confident about that happening sadly.
