The KC Chiefs hit the road for the final time during the regular season this weekend, when they face the Chicago Bears on Sunday Night Football.

To get more insight on the Kansas City Chiefs‘ opponent this weekend, I reached out to Usayd Kohul of Da Windy City, which is FanSided’s go-to site for all things Chicago whether it’s the Bears, Cubs, White Sox, Blackhawks, you name it and they cover it.

Usayd was nice enough to take the time to answer my questions that I had for this weekend’s match-up between the Chiefs and Bears. Without further ado, here’s my Q&A with Usayd!

Let’s start with the obvious Chiefs-Bears connection, which is Bears head coach Matt Nagy. Nagy used to be the offensive coordinator in Kansas City and the Chiefs had a lot of success with him during his time here. How do the fans view Nagy and do they see him as a long-term option in Chicago?

Usayd: It’s been a mixed reaction regarding Nagy so far. In 2018, Nagy quickly became the most liked sports figure in Chicago. However, 2019 has been totally different. Some fans rally behind Nagy, saying that he’s not the reason that the 2019 Bears are struggling simply because Mitch Trubisky was never the quarterback he wanted. Some say that his inability to adjust to quarterback Mitchell Trubisky and his playcalling are the reasons the Bears are being held back in a year where many expected them to make a true run to the Super Bowl.

Then there’s the part of the fanbase that thinks Nagy is growing as a head coach and playcaller and compares him to Sean Payton in New Orleans saying he’s got everything it takes to be a legitimate long-term option in Chicago. So as of right now, it just depends on who you talk to.

However, Nagy has still done a much better job of managing the locker room than his previous two predecessors in Marc Trestman and John Fox. It may not look like it right now but if Nagy ends up playing his cards right he will certainly be in Chicago for a long time.
