WHAT DID WE LEARN ABOUT THE CHIEFS?

The Kansas City Chiefs are the class of the AFC West and they proved that by absolutely dismantling the Oakland Raiders on Sunday, winning it 40-9 and never giving Oakland a chance in that game.

The crazy thing going on with the Chiefs right now is that they’re winning despite Patrick Mahomes not playing as well as he normally does. He threw for just 175 yards with a touchdown on Sunday while also rushing for 25 yards and another score.

Travis Kelce was a saving grace once again, catching five passes for 90 yards while Tyreek Hill had five grabs for 55 yards. Darrel Williams scored a receiving touchdown while LeSean McCoy waltzed in for a rushing score. Even on a not so great offensive day, the Chiefs still put four touchdowns on the board. That’s scary.

The Chiefs defense has played really well recently and this time shut out the Raiders until the fourth quarter. Even then, they only allowed nine points, picked off Carr twice, and made a lot of big time plays.

They did surrender over 100 yards to Jacobs, but most teams have. The important thing here is that the defense is finally starting to gel and that’s dangerous for the rest of the league.

Next up is the toughest game of the year for Kansas City, as they’ll travel to New England for a showdown with the Patriots in the late window of games.
