KC Chiefs: Way too early look at potential tight ends in 2020 NFL Draft
By John McCarty
The Kansas City Chiefs likely will draft a tight end, and Wisconsin’s Ferguson could be the best option for Chiefs to target in upcoming draft.
With both Blake Bell and Anthony Sherman hitting free agency after this season, a player such as Ferguson would make a lot of sense for the Chiefs in this draft. Immediate playing time both in the backfield as a ‘fullback’ type, but also an ability to line up as a tight end in replacing Bell and providing depth at both spots.
With Travis Kelce starting to age and nothing behind him combined with question marks next season at both running back and wide receiver, depth on offense will be important. Ferguson would provide depth and the ability to contribute perhaps at multiple positions.
The Chiefs can’t continue to ignore the tight end position. Drafting one in 2020 is an absolute must.
We next will turn our eyes towards running backs, which is quietly a long-term position of need. With that in mind, who are some players that could find themselves Chiefs at the end of draft weekend.
