With a win on Monday night by the skin of their teeth, the KC Chiefs are doing just enough to keep Patrick Mahomes in the MVP conversation. However, he can’t be taken as seriously as these other guys around the league.

With some MVP candidates separating themselves after week 11, the top five heading into week 12 seemed to be a little bit easier. Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs is barely in the discussion, but his hopes fade each week.

With three of those top five players on a bye in week 11, it became a little trickier trying to value those guys. The margin for error is razor thin currently, leading to some guys slipping due to not playing. That being said, we will have some different guys on the list this week because it’s the NFL and, of course, everything is constantly changing.

Last week the top five went:

  1. Russell Wilson
  2. Christian McCaffrey
  3. Lamar Jackson
  4. Aaron Rodgers
  5. Aaron Jones

Let’s take a look at this week’s MVP candidates, starting with our dark horses.
