KC Chiefs: What we learned about each team in AFC West after week 11
WHAT DID WE LEARN ABOUT THE CHIEFS?
The Kansas City Chiefs are still a very frustrating to watch and follow along with this year. They beat the Chargers 24-17, but kept allowing the Bolts to make it interesting in the final minutes.
Patrick Mahomes had his worst game of the season, throwing for 182 yards, one touchdown, and one interception while rushing for over 50 yards. The run game was not effective otherwise, even though they did tally over 100 yards, but again… Half of that was from Mahomes.
Travis Kelce led the team in receiving yards with 92 off of seven catches and also barreled his way into the end zone once. He was great in Tyreek Hill‘s absence, who had to leave the game due to injury.
The best news on the defensive side of the ball was that Chiefs fans finally saw the Frank Clark we were expecting to see when the team acquired him. He had a sack, five tackles, and three quarterback hits, so yes, he was disrupting Philip Rivers all night long.
Kansas City needed to win this game and despite almost blowing it, they came away with the victory, sit 3-0 in their division, and now have their other three division games at home to close out the year. They’ll go into a much needed bye week at 7-4 before hosting the Raiders in week 13 in the later window of games that afternoon.
