KC Chiefs: Way too early look at potential wide receivers in 2020 NFL Draft
By John McCarty
JUSTIN JEFFERSON – LSU
LSU Tigers receiver Justin Jefferson offers unique blend of speed, athleticism and experience as a potential Chief. With good size at the position, Jefferson is the ideal receiver prospect for a player with experience with quality hands and good quickness.
Jefferson has been a big factor in the Tigers offensive success this year and could be one of the biggest factors in why LSU could make a legitimate run at the National Championship.
Against Texas in September, Jefferson would lead all receivers with 163 yards and three touchdowns. Against Alabama, Jefferson pulled down 79 yards and recovered the Alabama onside kick to seal the victory for LSU.
Likely a second round selection, Jefferson is an immediate contributing prospect as a third option in the offense. He is a tough, physical presence in the LSU offense and could be a welcomed addition for the Chiefs offense.
For an organization in Kansas City that will be looking at some likely significant roster turnover this offseason, selecting a receiver in the first round could be a tough sell. However, in following rounds, it becomes far more plausible.
Would Justin Jefferson be someone that fits the bill? Perhaps.
