Sit of the Week: JuJu Smith-Schuster, WR, Pittsburgh Steelers

Pittsburgh Steelers. JuJu Smith-Schuster. 19. player. 55. . Wide Receiver

This one hurts, a lot. JuJu Smith-Schuster is one of my favorite players in the league. Humble, vibrant, good spirited, and hyper talented. He was the perfect antidote to the AB circus the Steelers had to deal with behind the scenes last year.

If Antonio Brown is easy to root against, Smith-Schuster is easy to root for. That being said, the loss of Big Ben at the quarterback position has been hard on the third year receiver.

Much like OBJ, JuJu has massively been disappointing based on where you drafted him. He still turns in eye popping performances, but they have been scattered out sporadically this year. Smith-Schuster has four games under eight points, and three of those four saw him score less than 5 points. He has become a touchdown dependent WR of late, and that may be hard to come by in an offense led by Mason Rudolph.

Now I am not saying JuJu should be out of your consideration entirely. Some of you may be forced to play him based off of bye weeks, injuries, etc. This is just me cautioning falling in love with the name.

For example, a receiver like Mecole Hardman could be available in your league. If you are looking for big play potential, he represents that more than Smith-Schuster does. Debo Samuel is also a name to look at. He has 21 targets in his last three games, and has turned that into an average of 14 ppg.

That could continue with Emmanuel Sanders going down with an injury. The point is, you may have options if JuJu Smith-Schuster is scaring you.
