Start of the Week – Hunter Henry, Tight End

Hunter Henry. 86. player. 13. . Tight End. Los Angeles Chargers

Hunter Henry is coming on quickly since his knee injury forced him to miss weeks 2 through 5. When healthy, Henry has proven his worth as the 6″5 tight end has been a favorite target of quarterback Phillip Rivers.

Henry, since coming back in week six, has garnered at least six targets and 80 yards are more in 3 of 4 games. He’s been sensational. Oakland is not exactly great against the pass either, as they gave up over 400 passing yards to Matthew Stafford and two 100-yard receiving weeks to Kenny Golladay and Marvin Jones.

This is a tasty match-up for a guy who has been hot of late. I expect this game to have some points scored and to be close, meaning there will be plenty of opportunities for Henry and possibly a few end zone targets for the former Arkansas Razorback.

There’s a team every year that has a second half breakout. The Oakland Raiders, though they’ve been respectable, don’t exactly have the talent needed for that run in my mind. The team who will many thought would put it together are these Chargers and after last week, they have every look of being that team.

Tackle Russell Okung came back in week 8, safety Derwin James is close to returning, and they have the narrative of a team poised team enter the playoffs healthy and hot. Henry will contribute to that narrative with a big day against a fantasy friendly Raiders defense who have been exploited multiple times already.

They are lacking a pass rush and had just one sack last week. This bodes well for all Chargers’ pass catchers, especially Henry. He should be a top-5 play at the position this week.
