After  a week of talking smack and reading press clippings, Kansas State football put the Jayhawks down, destroying their in-state foe at the ‘Kansas State Football Annex.’

All week, all anyone heard was how great and amazing the Kansas Jayhawks offense has been the past two weeks and that the Kansas State Wildcats defense would be lucky to keep the game close.

After close games on the road against Texas and an interesting victory over Texas Tech, the Jayhawks came into the game thinking they could, and would, win.

Les Miles opened his big mouth and the rest of the Jayhawks followed, even local sports talk radio got into the fact, fooled by the shiny new toy that was the Jayhawks not embarrassing the very game they purported to participate. Instead, the Kansas State team long on work ethic and hard work came out and flat owned the Jayhawks from opening kick to closing whistle.

University of Kansas finds their football stadium full of Wildcat fans on a steamrolling kind of day.

Yes, kind of the, Jayhawks football stadium was a sellout. Kind of. Was the capacity of the stadium perhaps changed recently to accommodate a sellout? Who knows? But what is known is what always is, that fans of Kansas State painted the stadium purple, making their presence known .

What else is new right? Sure, there were more Wal*Mart Kansas fans in the stadium on Saturday, but pack the stadium Kansas State fans did. And wouldn’t you know, there was Kansas, and members of the media (I’m guessing they were not in attendance) congratulating the school for the sell out.

Yes, Kansas ‘football’ is better now than it was last year. To be honest however, it would be really, really difficult to not be. But at least Kansas can roll out different uniforms for the occasion.

Maybe the school should stop bragging about selling out a stadium, when the opponent purchased a nice portion of those tickets.
