The Kansas City Chiefs need to get back on track quickly vs. the Minnesota Vikings in Week 9. Here’s what the Madden simulation shows.

The Kansas City Chiefs have had a rough go at it over the past few weeks, but they’re slowly getting healthier. There is a chance that Patrick Mahomes comes back this week, which would be huge for the Chiefs as they take on the Minnesota Vikings in Week 9.

He currently is listed as questionable, but if I was giving my best guess I would predict that he suits up as Matt Moore‘s back up this week for emergency purposes. However, we did go ahead and run the Madden sim with Mahomes in the lineup just in case.

No glaring complaints about Madden’s predictions last week, and actually even in a loss I think we owe a shout out to that KC defense for stepping up last week. Being shorthanded on that side of the ball but still playing an Aaron Rodgers-led Packers team to within a touchdown shows some improvements on defense.

But let’s see what the Madden simulation predicts for this week against the Vikings.

FINAL SCORE – CHIEFS 28, Vikings 24

CHIEFS STATS

VIKINGS STATS

The Madden simulation is giving the Chiefs a big win in Mahomes’ return. It showed a balanced attack for the Chiefs with three different receivers grabbing touchdown passes from Mahomes.

The defense will need to key on Cook this week and honestly, 85 rushing yards from him would probably be a win for the Chiefs. They also need to try to limit Diggs this week. Giving up 137 yards and two touchdowns to him would not be ideal. The defense looked improved last week so we will see if they can continue that into this week.

Again, as mentioned earlier Mahomes is still questionable, so this sim could be completely off if he doesn’t play. There are also players like Jones and Clark, who are projected to have a majority of the Chiefs’ sacks who are also questionable, so don’t hold it against Madden if these guys don’t play and this game turns out completely different from the simulation.

For now, Chiefs fans need to be hoping and praying that everyone is healthy come noon Sunday, so the Chiefs can get back on track this week.

Also, Madden’s simulation record is actually the same as the Chiefs record right now, so I have to give them props since I hate on them fairly often in these articles.

Go Chiefs!
