LOSER: THE DECISION TO PUNT THE FOOTBALL

A lot will be said about Andy Reid‘s decision in the middle of the fourth quarter to punt the ball away when the Chiefs offensive drive stalled near mid field. He obviously trusted their defense, which was good in the second and third quarters, to make a stop so his offense could get the ball back.

That didn’t end up happening, as the Packers ran all of the time off the clock and iced the game. Yes, the Chiefs could have turned the ball over on downs had they not opted to punt, but at that point, what did they have to lose? Going for it would have been the right decision and it’s doubtful fans would have faulted him much for doing so.

LOSER: WHOEVER WAS COVERING AARON JONES

While the Chiefs run defense actually did a decent job through the first three quarters, Aaron Jones still was able to have a big game through the air, hauling in seven receptions for 159 yards and two touchdowns. Jones’ long run of 67 yards (which was on a pass from Rodgers) ended up being the game winning score.

The Chiefs struggled to contain Jones in the receiving game and teams will most definitely make a note of that moving forward.
