The KC Chiefs fought hard against the Green Bay Packers despite not having Patrick Mahomes, but ultimately came up short, losing 31-24.

When it was officially announced that Patrick Mahomes would miss this game due to injury, I figured the game would get out of hand rather quickly. So when Green Bay quickly went up 14-0, it seemed like the Packers were just the better team and the Kansas City Chiefs would struggle to stay afloat without Mahomes.

Instead – The Chiefs fought hard and actually led at half time. They continued to battle in the second half, but the defense fell apart near the end of the game and run defensive woes shone through, despite playing well early on.

Let’s take a look at the winners and losers from this game, starting with a loser.

LOSER: LESEAN MCCOY

LeSean McCoy has been a nice addition to the Chiefs offense this year, but the way the guy holds the football is basically asking to fumble it on every carry. He fumbled it once again on Sunday night and that turnover led to a Packers touchdown and from there, Green Bay was on cruise control.

McCoy had nine carries for 40 yards and four receptions for 23 yards, so he didn’t have a bad game, but the fumbling issues have been frequent this season. Because of the costly mistake, McCoy ends up as one of the losers this week.
