Nebraska football is back at it this week, as they’ll host the Indiana Hoosiers in Lincoln. What should fans be watching for?

The Nebraska Cornhuskers and Indiana Hoosiers haven’t squared off in football since 2016 (yet somehow the Huskers have seen Ohio State every year since then…), so this will be a match-up that we haven’t seen in awhile.

Before then, the Huskers and Hoosiers hadn’t played since 1978. Indiana holds the all-time advantage at 9-8-3, according to Winsipedia. Nebraska, however, has a five-game win streak against the Hoosiers, that dates back to 1975.

Indiana has surprised some people this year, sitting at 5-2 on the year, but the teams they’ve beaten haven’t been anything to write home about. Their two losses came at the hands of the two ranked teams they’ve played on the year in Ohio State and Michigan State.

All of that being said, the Hoosiers are favored heading into this one, even with the game being in Lincoln. Let’s take a look at what to watch for, as the Indiana Hoosiers come to town.

CAN THE BLACKSHIRTS STOP THE RUN?

The last time we saw Nebraska in action, they were getting run over by the Minnesota Golden Gophers to the tune of 322 rushing yards. That is not good, in case you were wondering.

Indiana’s Stevie Scott III has the ability to put up big numbers, rushing for 108 yards off of 18 carries while also finding the end zone twice against Maryland last week. Judging from how badly the Blackshirts did against Minnesota two weeks ago, it’s tough to trust their run defense to slow down both Scott and Peyton Ramsey, who is a mobile quarterback.

Stopping the run will be a big key to Nebraska being able to come away with a victory on Saturday.
