WHAT DID WE LEARN ABOUT THE CHIEFS?

Last, but not least, we get to the 5-2 Kansas City Chiefs, who finally got back in the win column in week seven after two straight losses. It came at a price, however, as the Chiefs lost reigning MVP Patrick Mahomes on a quarterback sneak early in the game.

Prior to Mahomes exiting the game, the Chiefs led 10-6 and they put up 20 points without him. The defense finally did their part and showed up big in this one, returning a fumble for a touchdown and totaling nine sacks on the evening.

They smothered Joe Flacco and the Broncos run game all night long, which was something fans were waiting to see, as both the pass rush and run defense hadn’t showed much pop all season long. Both did their jobs beautifully against the Denver offense.

Matt Moore is the backup quarterback and will have to keep the team afloat while Mahomes is rehabbing from his injury and that’s the big question now; How well can the Chiefs do without their MVP bailing them out?

We finally saw their defense play a complete game, but can they do that against a team that actually has an offense? That’s what we’ll find out when the Chiefs host the Packers on Sunday Night Football next week.
