Drew Weeks, Outfielder

Drew Weeks, the 26-year-old outfielder, has quietly put together a find minor league career in the Rockies system hitting .261/.325/.420 with 65 home runs, and 204 extra base hits (74/123 SBs) in 2,306 at-bats.

Weeks put together his best year in 2019, hitting .285/.345/.530 in AAA this season with 20 homers, 7 triples, and 23 doubles. Weeks was consistent in making solid contact and saw his K% drop to 16.7% and his walk rate remainder around his career average of 7%.

Weeks is a good athlete who is able to stretch extra base hits and play average defense. He’s shown flashes of an above average arm with 18 outfield assists in 2015.

In the past three years, Weeks has developed into his power at the plate hitting 48 of his career 65 HRs. He has the confidence and motivation to continue to progress into an every day player, but appears to be a solid fourth outfield option.

Weeks projects to have an average hit tool and average power to generate a .250 average and 11-14 home runs per year. He’s has the ability to generate a lot of quality contact at the plate and solid plate discipline numbers to reach base at an average clip.

Weeks is Rule 5 draft eligible this offseason and the Rockies may not protect him on the 40-man roster.
