Sam Moll, LHP Relief Pitcher

Sam Moll, the 27-year-old LHP reliever (28 in January), made his MLB debut in 2017, but hasn’t made it back to majors since.

Moll put together a fine 2019 splitting time between AA and AAA while pitching 49.0 innings with a 2.39 ERA, 1.347 WHIP, and 54 Ks. Moll is exceptionally tough on lefties and in his minor league career, he’s put up solid numbers in 282.2 innings with a 3.31 ERA, 1.284 WHIP, and 274 Ks.

Moll features a 92-mph fastball and a 79-mph slider with plenty of movement, he also mixes in an 81-mph changeup. Moll is a lefty specialist as his fastball and changeup aren’t effective enough versus right handed hitters.

Moll has struggled with control at times, but when he’s on, his game is a tough at-bat for most left-handed hitters. The Giants haven’t added Moll to their 40-man roster and are unlikely to do so this winter.
