KC Chiefs: Winners and losers from week seven victory vs Broncos
Patrick Mahomes’ injury will overshadow the blowout win, but for now, let’s sit back and look at what the Kansas City Chiefs did without their MVP quarterback.
Denver was riding high after winning two straight games and shutting out the Titans last week. For the Chiefs to go into the Broncos’ home and absolutely smack the crap out of them is huge. Not only that, but they did all of that without the help of Patrick Mahomes.
It’s not easy when any starter goes down, but the quarterback getting injured is brutal for any team. The team persevered, however, and this was most definitely a statement win by our Chiefs. They fought hard and won this one for Pat, and that’s what you want to see from your team in the difficult times.
Kansas City sits at 5-2 and holds onto their lead in the AFC West, but it’s only going to get tougher from here, folks. The Chiefs are at home the next two weeks, but their opponents are no slouches, as they’ll get Green Bay next Sunday night and Minnesota the following week.
For the time being, let’s enjoy this win, send positive vibes Mahomes’ way, and hope for the best moving forward. This was an impressive win and Chiefs Kingdom deserves to celebrate it a bit.
Hopefully only good news surfaces in the next few days.
