Kansas City Chiefs: Madden Simulation for Week 7 vs Broncos
By Shade Piper

The Kansas City Chiefs have hit a rough patch over the past couple of weeks, dropping two games in a row. They have a big one this week against the Broncos. Will KC bounce back and get a win? Let’s see what Madden thought.
After losing the last two games, the Kansas City Chiefs now sit at a disappointing 4-2. They will be tasked with shaking off the loss and preparing for a bounce back win on a short week when they will play the Broncos on Thursday this week.
So before looking at the Madden sim for this Thursday, let’s check in on how Madden did last week with their predictions. They did correctly predict a loss for the Chiefs, but they had some other pretty accurate predictions as well.
Starting with the negative prediction, Madden was able to correctly foresee Mahomes throwing for his first sub-300 yard game and his first pick (although, there should be an asterisk by that one for one of the worst flag pickups I have ever seen).

Madden also was able to predict a big bounce back game for Tyreek Hill. In the last Madden sim article, I mentioned how Sammy Watkins had two touchdowns in the sim, but likely wouldn’t play and wondered if Hill would take over those touchdowns. Sure enough, Hill had two touchdowns on Sunday.
Madden also correctly predicted Juan Thornhill getting his first career interception (although he should’ve batted it down since it was fourth down). They also, unfortunately, mispredicted the Chiefs to win the sack battle. Even with a beat-up Texans offensive line, the Chiefs were barely able to touch Deshaun Watson Sunday.
Overall, Madden did a pretty good job last week. So let’s take a look at their predictions for this week versus the Broncos. Hopefully, it is better news than what last week’s sim brought us.

If this is the result Thursday night, it would be a very pleasant sight for Chiefs Kingdom after two straight losses. Not only getting a win, but seeing the Chiefs put up 44 points would make this a very fun game for Chiefs Kingdom.
One thing that is nice to see is that Madden is finally figuring out that the Chiefs are going to use a running back committee going forward. I like the nice even splits that the sim had for the Chiefs running backs.
Another observation about the Madden sims that is becoming apparent is that they love Sammy Watkins. They have him predicted to go for an astounding four touchdowns and over 200 yards this week! Unfortunately there’s no chance of that happening, as Watkins is listed as OUT for this game.
In the simulation, Madden had Flacco passing for more yards than he has in his last two games combined and matching his total touchdowns on the season with five touchdowns on Thursday night.
I doubt this happens, but would anything really shock you about this Chiefs defense at this point? If someone was going to give up 393 yards and five touchdowns to Flacco, it would be the Kansas City Chiefs, and in primetime.
It wouldn’t be ideal to give up that type of stat line to Flacco, but a win is a win and at this point, the Chiefs will take what they can get to get back on track.
If Madden is correct, we should be in for an action-packed night of football on Thursday.
