WHAT DID WE LEARN ABOUT THE BRONCOS?

After starting the season at 0-4, the Broncos suddenly have their swag back somewhat. They didn’t particularly play great on Sunday against Tennessee, but they defense did shut out the Titans (even if that team isn’t all that good to begin with) and that’s something to brag about in this day in age in the NFL.

It was almost like watching the Broncos defense from 2015, as the defense paved the way to victory, limiting Marcus Mariota to just 144 yards and an interception before getting the former second overall pick benched. Ryan Tannehill then came in and threw for 63 yards and two interceptions, so it’s not like he was much better.

The Broncos defense also accounted for seven sacks, which isn’t exactly something Chiefs fans want to hear ahead of their match-up with an already hobbled Patrick Mahomes. The Broncos were due for a breakout defensive performance and they got it against the Titans.

The Broncos offense wasn’t good, but they didn’t have to be. Joe Flacco only completed 18 passes for 177 yards and was picked off once. He was sacked once. The run game totaled 103 yards on the ground with a Phillip Lindsay touchdown.

It’s crazy to think that if last second field goals didn’t exist, the Denver Broncos could be 4-2 and fighting for first place in the division right now. Instead, they’re 2-4, but now out of it quite yet.

Denver looks to keep the win streak going when the Kansas City Chiefs come into Mile High Stadium for a date on Thursday Night Football. Can the Broncos run the ball on KC all night long and limit their mistakes enough to win the ball game?
