Kansas City Chiefs: Winners and losers from week six loss to Texans
The Kansas City Chiefs have now lost two games in a row and it hasn’t been pretty, to say the least. Who were the winners and who were the losers in the 31-24 defeat to the Houston Texans?
Unlike last week, the Kansas City Chiefs fell to a worthy adversary this week in the Houston Texans, who are a rollercoaster of a team, but for the most part, are very good. They weren’t at their best on Sunday, but did enough to hand KC their second straight loss.
Losing is never fun, but it does make us fixate more on the negatives. Chiefs fans might have ignored some of those issues in the first month of the season due to the wins tallying up, but now we’re forced to focus on those concerns a little more.
Let’s dive into the winners and losers from this loss, starting with a loser.
LOSER: ALL THE PENALTIES
It’s hard to define penalties as a loser, it’s more like the officiating and the lack of discipline for both teams. All of the flags being thrown made this game unwatchable. The Chiefs had 11 penalties while the Texans had ten flags thrown their way. If I remember correctly, KC had three penalties within the first two minutes of the game, which is absolutely ridiculous and shouldn’t happen.
This isn’t just a Kansas City Chiefs issue, it’s a football issue. Penalty flags are being thrown right and left and it’s making the game a lot less fun. The game never gets into a rhythm and any time there’s a big play, fans find themselves looking for a flag to spoil it. That’s not much fun at all.
