Local product Isaiah Simmons would be an ideal fit for Chiefs defense if he is still on the board.

While the Chiefs cornerbacks garner a majority of the discussion, the linebackers thus far have been train wreck awful. The Colts threw for less than 100 yards to receivers, but tight ends and running backs were open all night. The Chiefs desperately need a player capable of both playing in the box on run plays while capable of covering tight ends  and running backs.

Enter Isaiah Simmons, a linebacker/safety hybrid Clemson product that grew up and went to high school locally at Olathe North. Veach has made many good moves, but linebacker Anthony Hitchens is not among them.

Standing 6’4″ and 230 pounds, Simmons is big enough to help in the run game at linebacker, but has also shown an ability to cover both tight ends and at times receivers in the Clemson defense. If the Chiefs can add a few pounds on the Clemson products frame, the Chiefs will have a unique player on their defense at linebacker capable of playing all three downs.
