The Kansas City Chiefs have traded away three 2020 draft picks thus far, so a limited draft supply must pay dividends early. What prospects should fans be keeping an eye on throughout the collegiate season?

The Kansas City Chiefs, ever since Brett Veach rose to the helm of the organization, has drafted for immediate needs, which is not a good long-term strategy. The Chiefs must begin to value draft picks for what they truly are; four year deals of extremely affordable depth with an opportunity to emerge as more.

With that in mind, I take a look at what a way to early view of what the Chiefs draft could look like and prospects they could target. No, I don’t expect the Chiefs to make any crazy trades, at least not during the season (and no, they should not make those deals either).

It is important to note, the Chiefs used a second round pick on defensive end Frank Clark, a sixth round pick on Darron Lee and a seventh round pick on Jordan Lucas.

Also, understand as I do this I anticipate the Chiefs making cornerback a primary focus in free agency. Be it Byron Jones or someone else, a starting caliber corner will be brought in this offseason in free agency.

Let’s get started.
