NUMBER THREE – BASHAUD BREELAND

To put it mildly, the Chiefs cornerback situation this year has been not great. Kendall Fuller and Charvarious Ward have both struggled so far and Kansas City has been shredded through the air against almost everyone they’ve faced.

But surprisingly, Bashaud Breeland has been quite good.

Breeland was brought in on a minor one-year deal after he almost signed the previous year.  He has only given up ten receptions on 24 targets while having one interception and recovering two fumbles, one being for a 100-yard touchdown against Detroit.

Expecting Breeland to be a shutdown corner is unrealistic, but he has proven himself to be more than capable of being a number two cornerback, something Kansas City hasn’t had in years.

NUMBER TWO – LESEAN MCCOY

LeSean McCoy was the Chiefs’ surprise addition late in the preseason that came with many questions. McCoy was a former star who seemed to have finally run out of gas and was cut by Buffalo after his worst career year.

But so far this season, McCoy has been excellent, averaging 5.4 yards per carry with three total touchdowns. With McCoy, and the emergence of Darrel Williams, it will be very interesting to see how the snaps are distributed when Damien Williams returns.

McCoy has proven to be the best running back the Chiefs have although he’s been less explosive catching passes. Although Damien Williams figures to go back to the Chiefs primary pass catching back, expect Shady McCoy to still play a major role and lead the team in rushes.
