Sit of the Week: Jared Goff, QB, Los Angeles Rams

Starting or sitting Jared Goff as been easy. Is he playing at home? Cool. Start him. Is he playing on the road? Great. Sit him.

That sounds too cut and dry, but the sample size is getting astonishingly large to just write off Goff’s home/away splits as a coincidence. Going back to last year all the way through Week 4 of this season, Jared Goff is average right around 20 ppg at home, compared to only 13 ppg on the road. That is a stark difference, and you can find much better streaming options on the waiver wire.

Another thing to consider here is that Seattle is currently ranked 18th in points allowed against fantasy quarterbacks. They are only allowing 17 ppg to opposing quarterbacks, which is under Goff’s home average, let alone his road split.

Seattle also boasts defense playmakers like Jadeveon Clowney and Bobby Wagner, so it could be tough sledding for the Rams in Seattle, especially with crowd noise playing a factor. The Rams offense itself is to good to completely sputter, but don’t expect a good game from a fantasy perspective from Jared Goff.
