The Defensive Line

Alex Okafor, Defensive End: B

No. 97, acquired in the offseason, has one sack so far while collecting nine combined tackles to go with one pass defended and two quarterback hits. Solid.

Emmanuel Ogbah, Defensive End: B+

Also acquired in the offseason, Ogbah’s tied for the team lead in quarterback hits with five and leads the team in sacks with 2.5. To go with his 10 combined tackles, he’s also forced a fumble and defended one pass.

Frank Clark, Defensive End: B-

Also (also) acquired in the offseason, Clark has done…things…since suiting up for the Chiefs. He allegedly intercepted a pass in Week 1, though thanks to CBS, I’m not sure that really happened. But he’s only got one sack this year and two quarterback hits. More, please, Clark.

Tanoh Kpassagnon, Defensive End: B

Hey, he’s doing things! Maybe he’s not a bust (for a second-rounder) after all. The 25-year-old has one sack to go along with five total tackles in this young season. He’s also forced a fumble and defended a pass.

Chris Jones, Defensive Tackle: A-

Why all the hate on Jones? Don’t understand it. And quite honestly, I’m glad Kansas City has not traded for Jalen Ramsey, because if they do, Ramsey is going to get paid, and that means Jones walks. You may disagree, and that’s fine, but I’d rather have Jones than Ramsey. Jones is a stud.

Derrick Nnadi, Defensive Tackle: B+

Against the Lions, Nnadi played very well, collecting eight tackles and one sack and forcing a key fumble. For the year, the former third-round pick out of Florida State has 16 tackles while playing 52% of the defensive snaps each of the past two weeks.

Xavier Williams, Defensive Tackle: B-

Had a couple of penalties this past Sunday, but also forced a big fumble. On the year, the five-year vet has seven combined tackles in a limited amount of playing time.
