WHAT DID WE LEARN ABOUT THE CHIEFS?

Kansas City had the toughest game of the weekend and they barely escaped with a win, with the final score in Detroit being 34-30 in favor of the Chiefs. It wasn’t a pretty win, but at the end of the day, a win is a win and that’s all you can ask for.

The Lions limited Patrick Mahomes all afternoon long, keeping him out of the end zone for the first time this season. He ended the day with over 300 yards passing, but didn’t look like his normal self against Matt Patricia’s defense.

Fortunately, the run game stepped up, tallying 123 yards on the ground to go along with three touchdowns. LeSean McCoy had 56 yards rushing while Darrel Williams had two of the three touchdowns and is showing he can be leaned on while Damien Williams is out due to injury.

Travis Kelce continues to have a quiet season and had a nice lateral in this game where he tossed the ball to McCoy and let him gain some yards. Kelce would have been drilled on that tackle otherwise.

While the run defense was atrocious and the fumbles were a MAJOR issue, the Kansas City Chiefs proved they’re still far and away the best team in the AFC West after taking down a tough Detroit Lions squad. They’ll look to continue their winning streak against the Colts at Arrowhead Stadium on Sunday Night Football.
