WHAT DID WE LEARN ABOUT THE RAIDERS?

Are the Oakland Raiders decent or is the Colts defense really bad? That’ll be what Chiefs fans are asking themselves all week with Indy coming into Arrowhead on Sunday night.

But, for the time being, let’s focus on the Raiders, who beat Indianapolis by a score of 31-24 on Sunday in Lucas Oil Stadium. The game never seemed as close as the score would indicate, as the Raiders looked pretty good in this one.

The defense made some plays, recording a pick six off of Jacoby Brissett and holding the Colts rushing attack to just 81 yards (though they had to abandon it a bit after being down by quite a bit). They didn’t sack Brissett at all, but they hit him three times.

Derek Carr had a very Derek Carr-like day, completing 21 out of his 31 attempts for 189 yards and two touchdowns while being sacked just once. Carr is good at completing passes, but not necessarily for long yardage, but that was fine in this game. He didn’t have to do much for his offense to succeed, as rookie Josh Jacobs led the way on 17 carries for 79 yards.

This wasn’t necessarily the most exciting win, but Oakland went on the road in a tough environment and beat a good Colts team. They’ll continue their long road trip (they don’t return to the Black Hole until November) with a game in London against the Bears on Sunday.
