WHAT DID WE LEARN ABOUT THE CHARGERS?

Los Angeles snapped their two-game losing streak, but to be fair, they had a junior varsity opponent this weekend in Miami. The Dolphins are a pitiful team and that showed in the Chargers’ 30-10 victory on Sunday.

The Chargers weren’t necessarily dominant in this game, but they didn’t have to be. The defense limited Josh Rosen to just 180 yards while sacking him four times; Desmond King II had 2.5 sacks while Joey Bosa, Thomas Davis Sr., and rookie Jerry Tillery each accounted for 0.5 sacks. Isaac Rochell had one sack as well.

The run game didn’t do much, totaling 79 yards on the ground with Austin Ekeler leading the way on 18 carries for 60 yards and a touchdown. Melvin Gordon will soon return to LA to help with the rushing woes.

Ekeler did, however, contribute heavily in the receiving game, grabbing five balls for 62 yards and another touchdown, giving him two total on the day. Dontrelle Inman led the team in receiving yards with 76 off of five catches. Philip Rivers looked good, throwing for 310 yards and two touchdowns while only getting sacked once.

The Chargers had the easiest opponent possible on their schedule this past week, but they executed and that’s all they can do each week. They’ll look to get over .500 this weekend when the Broncos come to town for a late afternoon game.
