The KC Chiefs continue to hold a two game lead on their AFC West opponents. How did the division fare in their week four match-ups?

With four weeks of NFL action in the books, the Kansas City Chiefs sit undefeated at 4-0 while the San Diego Los Angeles Chargers and Oakland Raiders are both 2-2 and the Denver Broncos are winless on the year at 0-4.

How did each game play out this weekend for the four teams in the AFC West? Let’s take a look, starting with the winless Broncos.

WHAT DID WE LEARN ABOUT THE BRONCOS?

The Broncos aren’t good, but they’ve suffered from bad luck near the end of games, with another last second field goal dooming them once again this season, as they lost 26-24 to the Jaguars. They’d be 2-2 if last second field goals weren’t a thing.

Unfortunately for Denver, that’s not the case here, and the Broncos are still waiting for their first victory under first year head coach Vic Fangio.

Denver was leading 17-3 in this game, but Jacksonville didn’t give up on running the ball despite being down by two touchdowns. Leonard Fournette ended up rushing for 225 yards off of 29 carries and showed that the once dominant Denver D still has a long way to go before they’re back to that level of eliteness again.

The defense wasn’t all bad though, as the pass rush finally showed up and sacked Gardner Minshew five times. Von Miller proved he’s not washed up, notching two sacks while Bradley Chubb, DeMarcus Walker, and Malik Reed had the other three.

Joe Flacco wasn’t sacked for the first time in a game this season. He threw for 303 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception and it wasn’t his fault the Broncos lost this one. Emmanuel Sanders went for over 100 yards while Courtland Sutton had two touchdowns.

The run game was invisible, totaling just 68 yards on 16 carries. That’s been a glaring issue for the Broncos in this winless streak. The Broncos will look to snap their losing streak in Los Angeles against the Chargers next week in the late window of games.
