Well, it wasn’t easy, but the Kansas City Chiefs are 4-0 after barely escaping Detroit with a 34-30 victory. This was the tightest game the Chiefs have played all season. Who were the winners and losers from the win?

The Detroit Lions made a game of this and ALMOST stunned the Kansas City Chiefs in week four of the 2019 season. Fortunately, Patrick Mahomes exists and was able to lead a successful two-minute drive down the field and the touchdown scored on that drive was the game winning score.

While the Chiefs are 4-0, not everything in this game was rainbows and smiles, so let’s take a look at both the winners and losers from KC’s 34-30 victory over Detroit, starting with a clear winner (or winners).

WINNER: RUN GAME

The Chiefs needed their rushing attack to step up and they did just that against the Lions in week four, totaling 123 yards off of 23 carries to go along with three touchdowns. LeSean McCoy led the team in rushing with 56 yards on 11 carries and a touchdown while Darrel Williams found the end zone twice.

Games like these are when having even an average rushing attack comes in handy. The Chiefs weren’t having as much success through the air, but the run game was able to step in and help out the offense. It was much needed.
