The Kansas City Chiefs are coming off of a big win against one of the hottest teams in football last week and will look to build off of that to beat the Detroit Lions and stay undefeated. Does Madden predict that will happen?

The Kansas City Chiefs are now 3-0 after defeating Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens in their home opener last weekend. It was another game in which the Chiefs proved the Madden simulation wrong, coming away with the dub in Arrowhead.

Last week Madden had Jackson passing for four touchdowns on his way to the victory over the Chiefs. Madden also predicted that most of the Chiefs points would come on the ground. In actuality, it was Mahomes leading the Chiefs to the win with three touchdowns while Mark Ingram handled most of the Ravens touchdowns.

There is not as much anticipation going into this game but that doesn’t mean it is one that the Chiefs are overlooking. The Lions are a good football team and should make for a good matchup this weekend.

So, Chiefs Kingdom, let’s see what predictions Madden has for this week’s game.

FINAL SCORE – CHIEFS 34, Lions 13

CHIEFS STATS

LIONS STATS

There wouldn’t be much to complain about from the KC Chiefs’ standpoint if these were the actual game results. In the simulation, it appears that the Chiefs defense showed up and played well, highlighted by two sacks and holding the Lions to just two touchdowns.

Other than the obvious key of containing Stafford, stopping Kerryon Johnson will be another big task for the Chiefs. I’m not exactly sure why he only had five carries in the Madden simulation; maybe the Chiefs got off to a quick lead causing the Lions to abandon the run game, but whatever the reason the Chiefs would be very happy to only see the ball in Johnson’s hands only five times.

This week Madden seems to finally be figuring out that Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs are pretty good at football. Mahomes passing for 300+ yards and three or more touchdowns seems like all, but a guarantee at this point (knock on wood), so that prediction seems like a solid one.

It would great for Hardman to have another big game to keep building his confidence, so Chiefs Kingdom would be more than happy with the simulated 139 yards and one touchdown effort. It would also be nice to see Watkins and Kelce find the end zone again, so I like that prediction as well.

All in all, this is a pretty appealing simulation for Chiefs fans. It’s about time, Madden!
