Designated Hitter

Jorge Soler is the game changing power hitter the Kansas City Royals have been looking for when they traded for him in 2016. The Royals front office should make every attempt this offseason to sign Soler to a long-term contract.

Soler finally put together a healthy season and it allowed him to tap into his light-tower power. Soler has the power and plate discipline to hit 30+ home runs per year. If Soler is healthy, he could hit 100+ home runs over the next three years, so the Royals desperately need to keep him for as long as fiscally possible.

2020 off-season transactions: None

Undrafted coming out of Dixie State College of Utah, Logan Porter has excelled at hitting as a professional in the Royals system. Porter had an outstanding 2019 season hitting .352/.481/.648 with nine home runs and helped lead the Rookie level Burlington Royals to the Appalachian League championship series (second place finish).
