Center Field
Brett Phillips and Bubba Starling will continue to get plenty of at-bats in 2020 to see if the can get them to breakout. Each provide Gold Glove caliber defense in the outfield, but struggle to make consistent hard contact at the plate.
Brett Phillips has the potential to slash .240/.340/.440 with 20+ stolen bases. A more detailed write-up of Brett Phillips can be read here. Bubba Starling has the potential to slash .220/.260/.360 with 15 SBs. A more detailed write-up of Bubba Starling can be read here.
2020 off-season transactions: None
- Future: Khalil Lee (ETA: 2020)
Khalil Lee led the AA Texas League in stolen bases, walks, and strikeouts. At the age of 21-years-old, Lee was about 2.7 years younger than his peers in AA. Lee projects to be a .250 average hitter, excellent on-base numbers, with about 15 – 18 home runs, and 30+ SBs. A more extensive write-up about Khalil Lee can be read here.
