START ‘EM FOR WEEK TWO

Cam Newton, QB, Panthers

If you can’t tell, I expect big things from the Panthers offense this week. Cam Newton is a fringe starting quarterback most weeks, but this one should be very kind to him after going against Los Angeles last week. He will be inaccurate, last most weeks, but that’s real football. Watch Newton explode in week two as a top-five fantasy play at the position.

Curtis Samuel, WR, Panthers

Noticing a theme? Curtis Samuel laid a dud in the first week, but there is enough room for two solid fantasy players at the position. Plus, Greg Olson was held out of practice on Monday due to a back injury and that could open up targets if he is not one hundred percent in a short week. Samuel will live up to the height in week two and will open the door for the rest of the season.

O.J. Howard, TE, Buccaneers

Yeah, yeah I know what I said, the Bucs are going to struggle. But, that doesn’t mean there won’t be garbage time for the Tampa Bay weapons. I’m guessing O.J. Howard will be the beneficiary to a garbage-time touchdown. While this could be risky, someone has to catch passes when the Panthers go up big in the second half and Mike Evans didn’t look healthy last week.

Panthers Defense/Special Teams

Jameis Winston is notorious for throwing interceptions, just look at last week. Chances are, he’ll throw another to a Panthers secondary that is better on paper than the 49ers. And if you check back again to last week, there could be at least one touchdown involved for this defense. Start them with confidence in week two.
