Fantasy Football 2019: Thursday Night Football Start Em, Sit Em Week 2
By Gage Stagner
Sit of the Week – Quarterback Jameis Winston
While there is potential for Tampa Bay to need to air it out if they get down early, Jameis Winston cannot be trusted. This sit is soley based on the hunch that Winston is done in the NFL. We have seen the potential before from a fantasy standpoint and a football standpoint.
The fact of the matter is Winston may not be a good quarterback. Winston threw two pick-sixes last week against a secondary that only had two interceptions all of last year. While Bruce Arians may be the quarterback whisperer, Winston may be too far gone. It was not a good start for Winston in a make or break year for the quarterback in year five.
Again, it remains to be seen, but in theory the Carolina defense is much better than the 49ers. Winston should come out with something to prove, but he probably should have done that last week too.
In a short week, Tampa Bay still has the nasty taste in its mouth, while it seems like Carolina is ready too prove they are ready to compete for a division title based on last week’s performance against the NFC’s best.
This game has all the makings of a beating in Carolina, which means that there’s a chance Winston to get benched. The fact of the matter is Winston is far too risky to be put into any lineups and there are far better options on the waiver wire to stream if you are desperate.
Please stay away from Famous Jameis this week and depending on his performance, maybe the rest of the year.
