The Kansas City Chiefs are 1-0 on the young season after beating the Jaguars 40-26 in Jacksonville on Sunday. Who are the winners and who are the losers from this game?

The Kansas City Chiefs had a tough week one match-up, having to travel to Jacksonville in the scorching temperatures to face a feisty Jaguars team, who many have underrated heading into the 2019 season.

While it was pretty clear these two teams weren’t fond of each other, the Chiefs came up on top and begin their season with an 1-0 record. It wasn’t all pretty, but it’s hard to be too mad when the offense puts up 40 points and the defense does their part enough to where it was a comfortable win.

All of that being said, let’s take a look at who the winners and the losers are from this game. This won’t be as simple as “the Chiefs are winners” or “the Jaguars are losers” because you don’t need me to tell you the obvious. Instead, we’ll dive a little bit deeper here.

So, let’s get it started with an underrated winner!

WINNER: HARRISON BUTKER

No one ever acknowledges the kicker until he screws up, but I’m all about Harrison Butker and appreciating how awesome he is at his job. Butker did what was asked of him beautifully, knocking through all four field goals and all four extra points.

Had Butker missed even just one of those field goals, this game might have been a hell of a lot more interesting near the end. Props to Butker for being one of the best (if not the best) at a position that is sneaky important, especially in the late season games.
